Just a day away from the National Police Shooting Championships' Tactical opening in Albuquerque

Looking out upon the Washington Monument and Reagan National Airport

Alexandria, Virginia - This is one my favorite times of the year. Right after summer ends, and before winter takes hold, NRA's Law Enforcement Division packs up a good chunk of headquarters and heads out to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the National Police Shooting Championships (NPSC). Thought most of the Law Enforcement staff has in Albuquerque for about a week, I'm just getting my start today. In fact, the plane takes off in about thirty minutes.

That should give me time to find the Five Guys (least I think there's a Five Guys in Reagan National's B terminal), power up my gadgets and finish this post.

A few hours from now we land in Dallas (that's of course the royal we). An hour or so later it's the last leg to Albuquerque and then the fun begins. Six days of NRA Law Enforcement matches starting tomorrow morning with the New Mexico Tactical Police Competition. After approximately 200 shooters run through those courses it'll be time for NPSC registration, opening ceremonies at the Shooting Park Range and then we're off.

Events like this would not be possible without the support and cooperation of two very important entities ... the city of Albuquerque and our Sponsors. To Mayor Berry, the Albuquerque Police Department, neighboring Sheriff's Offices we well as sponsors like Brownells, SpringfieldH&KGlockSig Sauer and others we say thanks.

Can't wait to see you out there.
