That's Robert Vadasz. U.S. Border Patrol Agent out of Florida. Three-time NRA National Police Shooting Grand Aggregate Champion. Current overall title holder.
We'll be joining Robert next week in Albuquerque, New Mexico along with a few hundred other law enforcement officers from around the globe. With him will come a Nowlin 1911 9mm, a Bob Jones .38 Special Revolver, a Springfield Ultra Compact 1911, and a few other guns in his quest for a fourth Grand Aggregate Championship.
Even if he is successful in taking the overall title, that doesn't mean the others will walk away empty handed. Much like the Olympics, the National Police Shooting Championships produces several Champions. Awards will be handed out for Open Class Revolver, Distinguished Semi-Automatic, Stock Service Revolver and more.
More good news for competitors is the fact that you don't have to win a Championship to win a gun. The awards table, well, let's just say it'll be filled with a heck of a lot more 1911s, revolvers and other firearms then titles that will be bestowed.
Robert, of course, will be doing his best to make a big dent in that table. But there'll be plenty of competitors out there at the Shooting Range Park to slow him down.
I can't wait to get out to Albuquerque tomorrow.
