Special 3-Gun shooting opportunity this weekend

This weekend the Rockcastle Shooting Center in Park City, Kentucky, is holding its second annual Rockcastle Pro Am 3 Gun Championships. The competition is a part of the NBC Sports 3-Gun Nation tour and is sure to draw a lot of competitors and spectators.

The NRA will also be at Rockcastle this weekend, as NRA Sports will present their ‘3-Gun Experience’ an as additional benefit to spectators attending the match. Same as at the Amateur Trapshooting Association's recent AIM Championship in Illinois, NRA Sports is setting up a competition similar to the course of fire the pro’s and amateurs will be running.

Your typical 3-Gun competitors use customized centerfire guns. The NRA has put a little spin on the course in order to introduce new shooters to the sport. Featuring stock .22 rifles and pistols, their simple operation and low recoil make it much easier for less experienced shooters to get high scores.

We'll be providing all the ammunition, firearms and even door prizes. All you need to do is show up.

The weekend's side matches and custom gun raffles will raise money for NRA’s Life of Duty. The rest of the money raised this weekend also goes to good places: Task Force Dagger Foundation, which supports Special Forces and their families, and USA Cares, Inc. a Kentucky-based national nonprofit that gives financial and advocacy support to post-9/11 military and their families as they transition back to private life.

If you're in the Park City, Kentucky, area, you should really get out to Rockcastle Shooting Center this weekend and have some fun while helping out some great causes.
