Port Clinton, Ohio - SGT Sherri Jo Gallagher of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit has jumped back into the lead at NRA's 2012 National High Power Rifle Championships. Gallagher surpassed fellow USAMU team mate Tyrel Cooper after firing a first place score of 199-9x in the Navy Match.

Gallagher sits alone in the championship spot with an overall score of 996-49x — a point in front of last year's high power rifle champion Carl Bernosky and two points above SSG Brandon Green and Tyrel Cooper (pictured above). Although Bernosky, Cooper and Green currently trail Gallagher, they hold an advantage. The fact that they've scored higher than Gallagher in the X count (bullseyes or shots inside the 10 ring) means that they will jump in from of her if their overall point total is tied.
This is going to be a close one.
