NRA Bianchi Cup's Colt Speed tytle retained by Doug Koenig

Doug Koenig wins the 2012 Colt Speed Event

Columbia, Missouri - As promised, here is your slideshow of photos from the Colt Speed Event. Spectators gathered to watch the fastest shooters in each Division of this year's MidwayUSA & NRA Bianchi Cup face off in a head-to-head match.

Not every Bianchi Cup competitor gets a crack at the Speed Event. That honor is bestowed upon those who finished in the top four of the Open, Metallic and Production Divisions. Also allowed entry are the top four female shooters as well as two from the Junior and Senior Division.

Standing in a three square foot firing area, competitors draw and fire upon five "knock-down" steel targets. The targets, placed ten yards down range, are set at varying heights. With the referee's order of "READY" followed by "STAND-BY", the starting signal sounds and we're off to the races.

Shooting pairs, the competition is ultimately whittled down to the final two. Emerging from the pack this year, same as last year, was 2012 Bianchi Cup Champion Doug Koenig.

Tomorrow we'll be bringing you photos from the Celebrity Pro-Am, where Cowboy Mounted Shooting Champion Kenda Lenseigne won her fourth consecutive title.
