NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre at the 2012 Meeting of Members in St. Louis.
St. Louis, Missouri - When Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre took the stage for the Meeting of Members during NRA's 141st Annual Meetings and Exhibits, the crowd had a difficult time keeping their seats. First during staff introductions and then for his Members Address, the exhilaration rocketed around the same dome when NFL greats Marshall Faulk and Kurt Warner introduced America to the Greatest Show on Turf.
"Less freedom anywhere threatens all freedoms everywhere," said LaPierre. "Every member needs to do everything possible to keep our nation strong."
Covering everything from local battles to national victories to international concerns, LaPierre presented a moving address interrupted by more than a dozen standing ovations.
"It was a very enthusiastic response by the crowd," said Dave Workman, Senior Editor for TheGunMag.com. "He definitely had them on their feet."
In the end, he called for action. Sounding the 2012 NRA battle cry of All In, LaPierre left everyone with a final question.
"Will you defend your freedoms with all your honor and all your heart?"
Judging from the response, I'm guessing the people here in St. Louis can be counted in the Yes column.
