San Antonio, Texas - With all scores in, Lindenwood has once again captured the day's team title for Division I in the ACUI Clay Target Championships in San Antonio. In fact both Lindenwood teams outshot American Skeet's previous leader, Bethel's Wildcats. Lindenwood Two placed first with a 495 as Lindenwood One placed second with a 488.
The University of Missouri's Mizzou 1 took first in Division II with a score of 476 and Clemson University's Clemson Tigers won Division III after shooting a 456.
The Men's standings were completely shaken up after Lindenwood's Alik Miller won the American Skeet with a perfect score of 100 clays. Three more shooters joined Texas A&M's Logan Gaskins with 99s, necessitating a shoot-off for second and third place. The influx of 99s pushed the 98s, of which six more appeared, completely out of contention. Condolences to those who had a 98, but the night ended a lot sooner without having to go through a fifteen-way shoot-off.
Cassandra Douglas won American Skeet among women shooters with a final tally of 99 clays. Lindenwood teammates Sarah Hughes and Morgan Craft were joined by Drucilla Meier with a score of 95 which will, of course, necessitate a shoot-off for second and third.
Students are getting ready to participate in the necessary shoot-offs, which will be followed by the NRA All-American Shoot-Out later this evening.
