San Antonio, Texas – The Bethel University Wildcats currently possess a two point Division 1 team championship lead over Texas A&M University with a score of 483. Totals for Lindenwood, the team champion in both international events for the ACUI Clay Target Championships in San Antonio, have yet to be tallied. We'll have to wait until this evening to find out if they can take another championship, force a tie or end up coming behind the current leaders.
Texas A&M's Logan Gaskins, who missed one bird in his first round, ended up with a 99 and sits in first for the Mens category while there's an nine-way tie for second.
Sarah Hughes and Morgan Craft, two of Lindenwood's top shooters, are tied for Ladies lead with 95s. Below them, Southeastern Illinois' Kim Peters Lauderdale and Ali Chiang of the Fashion Institute of Design-San Francisco are tied for third with 94s.
Now shooters are wrapping up their equipment and supplies. Many are resting in the shade — trying to catch their breath before the shoot-offs which determine final placement begin.
