Michael Fuljenz, President of Universal Coin & Bullion in Beaumont, Texas, is one of three featured appraisal experts in a new television show produced for the National Rifle Association, "NRA's Guns & Gold." The weekly program will be shown nationally on cable on the Sportsman Channel and around the world online at

The show can be seen at 9 pm Eastern each Monday beginning on December 26, 2011. Check with your local cable or satellite provider for channel location and time in your community.

"NRA's Guns & Gold is an exciting and informative series featuring everyday people who discover their old firearms and rare gold coins may be worth much more than they imagined or learn that perhaps it has only sentimental value. Each episode will have viewers scrambling to their safes, closets and basements to find their own hidden treasures," said Jeff Poole, Director of NRA Member Programs.

"It's THE television show for collectors and aficionados of rare gold coins as well as antique firearms," said Mike Fuljenz, an award-winning numismatic author.

Universal Coin & Bullion is the official rare coin and bullion dealer of the NRA.

The company sponsored the Antique Guns & Gold Showcase events at the NRA 2011 Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and in 2010 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Fuljenz provided free appraisals of the public's gold and rare coins. In addition to giving estimated values for the coins he examined, Fuljenz explained the historic and cultural significance of many of the items he appraised.

"Some of the people I met with originally had thought about selling their gold to traveling 'hotel' buyers. They didn't know the value of their gold items, and easily could have sold them too cheaply. Some out-of-town, traveling gold buyers who claim to be experts -- but are not -- set up shop for a few days at a local hotel and pay as little as 20 cents on the dollar compared to better offers the sellers might receive from reputable coin dealers," said Fuljenz.

"Money is history you can hold in your hands, and scarce and rare gold coins have a collector value above their bullion melt value," he explained.

“Universal Coin & Bullion was an amazing team to work with producing this series," said Poole. "Mike Fuljenz is the expert’s expert when it comes to rare gold coins and was the perfect addition to NRA’s world renowned firearms museum curators. Universal Coin continues to support the NRA and our fight to preserve freedom, and provides the advice, products and services our members have come to expect from our partners."

The two firearms experts on the new TV program are NRA Museum Director Jim Supica and NRA Museum Senior Curator Phil Schreier.

"While nearly every American Sportsman is aware of what the NRA is doing to preserve our future, we are excited to provide a showcase for what this great organization is also doing to preserve our past," said Gavin Harvey, Sportsman Channel Chief Executive Officer.
