Bear on the Range by Michelle Lui, Palatine, Illinois

Although there can only be three winners in each category of the George Montgomery/NRA Youth Wildlife Art Contest, our judges often have a hard time selecting final placing from a much larger pool of great artwork.

Honorable mentions are for just such an occasion. Although they did not place, these entries are selected by our judges to highlight artwork they admired and would like to get recognition for the fine work put into them. Just like Michelle Lui's Bear on the Range that we've included above.

As with this year's winning entries, we start at Category I – first through third graders. Scroll down a little further to see every piece of work.

Congratulations to:

  • A Bunny Day by Vicki Wang, Auburn, Alabama
  • Big Horn Sheep by Charlotte Bain, Lexington, Massachusetts
  • Bear with me by Catherine Xun, Hoffman Estates, Illinois
  • Duck by Jason Cai, Dublin, Ohio
  • Bear on the Range by Michelle Lui, Palatine, Illinois
  • Bear by Wendy Zhang, Hoffman Estates, Illinois
  • Sunny Bunny by Laura Gerasenkov, Sacramento, California
  • Serenity by Nancy Shao, Sugar Land, Texas
