Fairfax, Virginia - It was awful busy here yesterday at the National Rifle Association’s headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia. In addition to the regular amount of hustle and bustle, Raimo Helasmaki of the Nammo Group stopped by for a visit. Based in Finland, Nammo is the parent company of ammunition manufacturer Lapua.

Lapau was founded in 1923 as a state owned cartridge company. Over the years, they kept perfecting their product in an effort to keep up with the suggestions and demands of their customers. Considering that 80% of the Biathlon medals at the 2010 Winter Olympic in Munich were won by athletes using Lapua ammunition, you’d have to say that their perfecting techniques are pretty good.

Helasmaki, Executive Vice President of Nammo’s Small Caliber Division, met with several NRA officials including NRA’s General Operation Executive Director Kayne Robinson. And to wrap things up, how could he resist a quick spin through the National Firearms Museum.
