Albuquerque, New Mexico - Crowds gathered just after five in the afternoon on Thursday, September 21, 2011, for the National Police Shooting Championships' final awards ceremony. Gone were the tables and curtains and products that previously populated the main building's vendor hall. In their place where competitors, friends and family waiting to hear the Championship's final winners to be named.
After searching for an appropriate location, all laid anchor as NRAblog's own Kerrin Brinkman welcomed the crowd. First to be announced were winners of the Open-Class Revolver Four Officer and Two Officer teams. Making the presentations were NRA Law Enforcement Director Glen Hoyer and NRA Board Member (and New Mexico resident) Dave Bennett.
After the Revolver champions received their awards, Brinkman moved on to the Four and Two man teams for the Open-Class Semi-Automatic champions. Whether the winners came from the U.S. Border Patrol, Germany (like Axel & Johann from team BDMP pictured above) or Immigrations and Customs, all in attendance stepped up with applause and appreciation for the competitor's accomplishments.
