Competitor at the 2011 NRA National High Power Rifle Long Range Championships on NRAblog

The National Rifle Association's 2011 National High Power Rifle Long Range Championships kick offed this morning with the Band of Brothers Trophy match. All Long Range matches are shot from the prone position from ranges between 800 and 1,000 yards. Those to keep your eye on include 2011 High Power champ Carl Bernosky, three time Long Range High Power winner John Whidden and 2009 Long Range champ Sherri Gallagher.

The Band of Brothers Trophy match starts things off as competitors take twenty shots at 1,000 yards, a feat requiring a powerful rifle, a lot of patience and precision skill.
