Hundreds of the world's best 3-gunners are descending upon Raton, New Mexico for the JP Enterprises' Rocky Mountain 3-Gun Championship, set to kick off tomorrow morning. Over three days, competitors will make their way through nine different stages at the NRA Whittington Center, where elevation and the natural terrain of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains will make for a physically challenging match. Competitors will have their marksmanship skills put to the test as well, contending with a fair amount of long range rifle shots, some out to 400 and 500 yards.

Making this match even more exciting is that it is being filmed as part of the second season of 3-Gun Nation, a television show dedicated to the sport of 3-gun. At the end of the competition, there will be a 3-Gun Nation shoot-off, where top-ranked competitors will compete head-to-head for bragging rights and a check. Last year, Remington's Robby Johnson beat out veteran competitor Jerry Miculek for a $5,000 check from Safariland.

Throughout the competition, we'll be bringing you photos, video, and coverage of the competition, including the 3-Gun Nation Shoot-Off, so stay tuned and check out the photo slideshow above of a stage from the 2009 Rocky Mountain 3-Gun.
