'The National Matches, 1903-2003: The First 100 Years,' art work by Wendy Cunningham, is available at the NRA Program Materials Center on NRAblogWhen you hear the title "National Pistol Champion", two names immediately come to mind: 10-time National Champion Brian Zins, and 6-time National Champion Bill Blankenship. This year, we're lucky enough to have both of these men with us here for the National Matches, and today they'll be signing copies of The National Matches: 1903-2003 The First 100 Years... in Building 950 between 1:00 and 2:00.

Blankenship is a Camp Perry legend who first came to the National Matches in 1953. He won his first title in 1960 and would win again the next four years and again in 1967. Blankenship is back at Camp Perry serving as the Chairman of the Protest Committee and as the Team Captain of the Mayleigh Cup and NRA/USA Civilian Pistol Teams.

Zins, who is not shooting this year due to an elbow injury, won his first title in 1996 and began a five-year winning streak in 2001. His last three wins have been 2007, 2008, and again in 2010 when he clinched his 10th title. He currently holds four NRA National Pistol Championship records and despite his absence on the range, he's on Vendor Row selling his new product, Gunny Zins Ammo.

Please stop by to have your book signed, or just to say hello to these Camp Perry legends. If you already own a copy of The National Matches: 1993-2003 The First 100 Years...., feel free to bring your copy or you can purchase one at the signing or from the NRA Camp Perry Store.
