Port Clinton, Ohio -
While NRAblog was at Camp Perry for the 2011 NRA National Junior Air Gun Championship & Training Summit, we noticed the classic signs that the ranges are about to be transformed for the NRA National Rifle & Pistol Championships, set to begin July 12.
Outside of the NRA Range Operations Building, shooting benches, target houses, and the range towers are all on small trailers, lined up and ready to head to the firing line. We even ran into Joe DeCosta, the proverbial man behind the curtain when it comes to range operations during the National Matches.
"We've been working hard getting everything ready," said DeCosta of the huge effort to prepare the ranges. NRAblog will head back to Camp Perry in less than two weeks to cover the National Matches, so keep checking back and bookmark NRAblog to get all the news and updates as it happens, live from Camp Perry.
