Port Clinton, Ohio -
When t2011 NRA National Junior Air Gun Championship & Training Summit competitors aren't on the range, they're in the classroom. There's lots on the agenda to learn, and this morning's Training Summit kicked off with a presentation by National Collegiate Shooting Program Manager Tori Croft.
Croft spoke to the group about being a collegiate shooter, telling the crowd, "Why shoot in college? The better question is why not shoot in college?"
She also covered the different competitions and championships for collegiate shooters and the benefits of shooting in college, including scholarships.
"Pay close attention, because you may be able to get a scholarship and get a full ride to college," one parent stressed to a young shooter in the crowd.
Other classes on the agenda for today include how to get grants from the NRA, proper equipment maintenance, other competitive shooting opportunities from the NRA, and the history of Camp Perry.
The second relay of the day just took to the range, so check back for photos of the shooters in action and more updates from the 2011 NRA National Junior Air Gun Championship & Training Summit.
