Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) just wrapped up this weekend in Bryantsville, Kentucky at the Canoe Creek Ranch. 40 young hunters, eight coaches, and 20 volunteers braved the rain on April 23rd to participate in the event.
The competitors faced off in six different events: Hunter Responsibility Exam, Hunter Safety Trail, Wildlife Identification, Shotgun, Light Rifle, and Archery. The morning’s heavy rain kept the kids undercover for the Exam and Wildlife Identification, but the skies cleared up in time for them to head into the field and start shooting.
After the competition concluded, the entire crew gathered for the awards ceremony, where awards were given according to age group and event.
