Newark, New Jersey - Ranges and clubs across the United States are reaching out to their respective communities through NRA programs like the Youth Hunter Education Challenge, NRA Day, and the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program. One such example exist about three hours north of us at the Gun For Hire's new South Jersey location in Winslow.

"We opened two additional locations less than a year ago," explained Gun For Hire CEO Anthony Colandro. "It can be easy to lose site of the important things, like how we serve the community. That's why when one of our RSOs, ah Chuck Berwick to be specific, that's why when Chuck said he wanted to start using the NRWinchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program, I told him to run with it."

The Marksmanship Qualification Program is a great way for first time shooters to learn how about safety, storage, and proper handling of firearms. Participants can choose from any discipline including (but not limited to) air rifles, shotguns, muzzleloaders, or pistols. At Gun For Hire South, better known as the South Jersey Shooting Club, Chuck plans to start with rifle in May.

"This program is a great tool for developing shooters," said NRA Certified Instructor Chuck Berwick. "We will be offering First Steps classes geared specifically towards the Winchester/NRA program to kick things off. After the class, students will have the opportunity to attend our Winchester/NRA shoots which will be held on a regular basis. They'll progress through the ranks, receive certified NRA instructions, and having a great time with friends."

But it's not going to stop there. According to Colandro, "there will also be a Women On Target® division of this program coming soon if all goes well."
