Mike Davis, Southern California/Nevada's NRA Field Representative, notified NRAblog about an incredible prize offered by the South Orange County's Friends of NRA at their Dove Canyon banquet in September:
Always looking for a way to increase their fund raising bottom line with prizes and drawings that are unique and very special, this year the Orange County Friends of NRA have come up with a custom Henry Big Boy in 44 Mag / 44 Special that was hand carved by master engraver Sean McVicker, owner of Stories in Steel in Lakeside, California.
“We asked Sean to do something special to represent all of the Southern California Friends of NRA committees and not just our own group,” said South OC Friends of NRA committee volunteer, Tom Knie. “In his endeavors to make us happy, he truly made it a special offering.”
On one side of the rifle, McVicker inscribed the words "Friends of NRA" with an American Eagle and a wild Mustang; on the other side he added an Elk and the Liberty Bell along with extensive scroll work. On the bottom of the receiver are the engraver’s initials. This rifle is truly a one of a kind offering and can't be duplicated.
All Southern California Friends of NRA groups have been offered the opportunity to display and sell raffle tickets for this rifle at their fundraising banquets, with proceeds benefiting The NRA Foundation.
With the custom engraving, the Henry Big Boy represents a $4000 value to the winner of the drawing, for the price of a $10 donation. The winner will be drawn at the South OC Friends of NRA Banquet in Dove Canyon, California on September 8, 2011.
