NRAblog introduced you to Dan Starks with Starks Training Institute back in October, after he was named the 2009 NRA Instructor Recruiter of the Year. At the fall NRA Board of Directors in September, Dan traveled to Virginia and was presented with his award. Randy Clark, Manager of NRA's Recruiting Programs shared the following news about Dan, proving that you can't keep a good recruiter down.
On his visit to Virginia for the Board Meetings to accept his Recruiter of the Year award, Dan broke his hip. He has been wheelchair bound and will be until the hip replacement and rehabilitation are complete. Yet even with his maladies, he has recruited 76 members SINCE breaking his hip and I just received another dozen or so in the mail.
Dan is a testament to the dedication of our Recruiters and the crucial role they play in our attempt to protect the Second Amendment through strength in numbers. In 2010, Dan signed up 355 new members and closed up the year at just under 400 members. Keep up the good work, Dan, and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
