On Sunday, January 2, the Friends of NRA television show will premiere at 10:30pm EST on the Outdoor Channel.
Professional shooter Jessie Harrison (Womens' Champion in the 2010 NRA Bianchi Cup) is joined by former MLB player Matt Duff (host of the Buck Commander series) in the long anticipated NRA Foundation project.
In the show, Matt and Jessie travel across the United States to explore the world of NRA's grassroots fund-raising program for gun enthusiasts known as Friends of NRA. Created in 1992 with help from MidwayUSA's own Larry Potterfield, money raised through Friends of NRA is used to provide grants for firearms education classes, construction and maintenance of shooting ranges and various youth programs.
Hundreds of Friends of NRA banquets are held across the country each year thanks to the outstanding work of NRA's Field Representatives, whose countless hours spent on the road and tireless work makes everything possible. While Matt and Jessie will attend events and meet the people whose generous donations help the world of shooting sports thrive, the show is so much more than two hosts sitting down for dinners and auctions to fill their bellies and bid on collectible merchandise. The Friends of NRA show will delve into the workings of the entire shooting world, Friends of NRA banquets and beyond.
From the Outdoor Channel's description of the upcoming show:
Whether they’re spending time at the Whittington Center with the best and brightest youth of today, showcasing the world’s best at the Bianchi Cup, going behind the scenes on an exclusive Black Bear Hunt in Alaska, or introducing America to our unsung heroes during a Wounded Warrior Elk Hunt – Matt & Jessie will go everywhere and explore everything to uncover the unseen facets of the shooting sphere.
Nowhere else but The Outdoor Channel will audiences be able to watch one series covering so many sides of the shooting industry. America will tune in to the most tuned-in show on shooting and finally get a taste of what really keeps our firearm industries and traditions thriving.
Ring in the new year with a great new show.
