You are the NRA. You shoot, or hunt or ardently support the Second Amendment. You read NRAblog! And you definitely joined the NRA. Once, or even several times. But are you still a member?
I learned something talking to people at the Wanenmacher's Gun Show this month in Tulsa. A whole lot of people who signed up at some point think of themselves as part of the NRA forever. In a way, that's a pretty big compliment; people identify with what the NRA stands for and all this organization does. But if you're no longer a current member, there are benefits to membership that you're missing out on, and the need for vigilant protection of your right to keep and bear arms never goes away. Are you still a part of that important effort?
With the holidays almost upon us, and a New Year fast approaching, now is a great time to gift an NRA membership or renew yours. So pull out that NRA membership card, and look at the expiration date. Can't find the card at all? That's a good sign it's outdated.
Join us for 2011. Why wait?
