For young pistol shooters, there aren't many opportunities to receive world-class training from some of the most experienced shooters and coaches in the country. But we've gotten word on one opportunity that you just can't miss - the 4th Annual NRA Bullseye Pistol Competition Junior Shooting Camp, sponsored by the Illinois Junior Precision Shooters - Precision Pistol (IJPS).

Scheduled for December 27-29, 2010 at the Sandy Ford Sportsman's Club in Streator, Illinois, the camp will featuring three days of personalized coaching and instruction with Sergeant First Class Eric Daniels (Retired) who shot with the United States Army Marksmanship Unit as the lead instructor.

SFC Daniels will work with each student individually to address their skills and provide guidance to turn weaknesses into strengths. In addition to SFC Daniels, a team of experience and dedicated NRA Certified Instructors and Coaches will be on hand to help each student reach their full potential as a competitive shooter.

"We are passionate about developing each athlete, not only as a skilled shooter, but as a shooting team member - learning to work together so that each junior grows personally and professionally. We encourage each athlete to shoot their best, not to try and beat someone else," said Coach Jim Hagearty with IJPS. "We build one success story at a time - each shooter is important to us!"

Alumnae include Sara Magee, 2008 Illinois State Junior Pistol Champion and top female Marksman at the 2010 National Matches, and 15 year-old Hannah Brummell who was just named the 2010 Illinois State Junior Outdoor Bullseye Pistol Champion after just one and a half years of training.

The camp is held in conjunction with the 6th Annual Central Illinois Junior Invitational "2700" Bullseye Pistol Tournament and is open to youth ages 10-20 years who have some experience with a semi-automatic pistol. The cost of the camp is just $75 and includes targets, ammunition, lunch, and match fees. A limited number of firearms are available upon advanced request for students who do not have a pistol.
