Day 1 of shooting has begun at the 2010 Sabre Defence Blue Ridge Mountain 3-Gun Championships. Rockcastle Shooting Center is swarming with nearly 250 competitors as they begin shooting the first stages of the day. Although thunderstorms are predicted for most of the weekend, Range Master Mike Oberman has something else in mind. "THIS better cooperate!" said Oberman, pointing to the sky.

In addition to the competition, other events are planned for today, including the NRA 3-Gun Experience. Better known as 3GE, this is a stage where spectators and the public are welcome to try the hand at 3-gun competition with .22 pistols, rifles, and 20 gauge shotguns. The event is open today from 1PM to 5PM, so if you're in the Park City, Kentucky area, come and give 3-gun a try.

Here's a photo slideshow from Stage 10 titled "Choices, Choices," aptly named as competitors can choose to engage targets with their rifle, pistol, or shotgun.
