NRAblog introduced you to our Credentials Office a while ago, and Gloria and Patricia, pictured at right, are still hard at work assisting our trainers. As busy as they are, the ladies took a few minutes to discuss the most frequently asked questions from our cadre of NRA Certified Instructors.

Here are a few of the inquires that Gloria and Patricia frequently field:

Gloria Brooks and Patricia Lewis in the Credentials OfficeQ: I submitted my paperwork to the Training Department a while ago. When will it be processed?

A: Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing. There is no need to call and see if your paperwork has been received. If you still have not received your certificate after 6 weeks has passed, you may call about the status of your application. If you took an Instructor Course from a Training Counselor, please contact your Training Counselor directly to see when he/she sent in your paperwork.

Q: I’m about to send in my paperwork. Can you tell me what the appropriate fees are?

A: The entire fee schedule is listed on your application. Simply select the appropriate fee for the course and/or discipline you have taken.

Q: I sent in my paperwork a few weeks ago, but I would like to order materials and start teaching as soon as possible. Can you process my application right now?

A: Unfortunately, the Credentials Office cannot honor rush requests. You must wait the 4-6 week time period to receive your Instructor certification.

Q: Can you please tell me when my certification as an NRA Instructor expires?

A: This information is now available online at www.NRAInstructors.org. Log in as an Instructor to view your expiration date, renew online, list courses, or report courses.

The Credentials Office has processed nearly 7,770 new Instructors this year, not including renewals. Please be patient as they work to assist then entire NRA family of trainers!
