John DaSilva, National Manager of Field Operations' Volunteer Fundraising, brought sons Patrick, 6, and Sean, 6 months, to the NRA National Firearms Museum's Trick or Treat event on Saturday.
DaSilva spends most of his time at NRA HQ working with Friends of NRA events but said the family enjoys visiting the Museum. "Patrick wants to be a hunter just like his daddy, and Sean wants to be just like his big brother," DaSilva said of his sons' costumes, noting Patrick preferred to wear his "real hunting clothes" instead of a costume.
The DaSilva family enjoyed their stroll through the decorated galleries. "The hunt for candy was on!" DaSilva said. The young hunters joined countless cowboys, princesses, dragons, ladybugs, and gangsters at the event.
"Patrick's favorite part of the Museum is the Teddy Roosevelt room where he can see all the different firearms and mounts," DaSilva said. "When I dropped him off at school on Monday he couldn't wait to tell all his friends about his Halloween hunting expedition."
