The Individual Range Field Aid Kit (IRFAK – “EAR-Fak”) is a Trauma Kit that was designed by Combat Medical Systems of Fayetteville, North Carolina, in collaboration with the NRA’s Law Enforcement Training Manager Dave Gledhill. “This pack was specifically designed for NRA Instructors,” said Jon Gilpin, Director of Military/Law Enforcement Relations for Combat Medical Systems.

The packs were a hot seller during the National Police Shooting Championships, and for good reason. The IRFAK trauma pack is different from standard first-aid kits in that it includes Quikclot Combat Guaze which has the clotting agent Kaolin embedded in the guaze. It's the only gauze of its kind approved for use by the U.S. Department of Defense.

The kit also includes protective gloves, hand sanitizer, CPR mask, trauma shears, a space blanket, and a SOF-T tourniquet. The contents are enclosed in a high visibility orange pouch with a reflective cross that can be worn on the belt of the Range Safety Officer. A flashing red light is attached so RSOs can be easily identified during low-light training scenarios.
