Sporting Clays Showcase at the Country Music Awards

Steve Hoback with NRA's Training Department brings us the following news after a recent trip:

NRA Sports presented a Sporting Clays Showcase in conjunction with the Country Music Awards. On June 10, 2009, 53 shooters showed up bright and early at the Tennessee Clay Target Complex in Nashville, Tennessee. Dave Butz, NRA Board Member and three-time Super Bowl winner with the Washington Redskins was on-hand to shoot as well as provide coaching to the competitors. Beretta USA provided Silver Pigeon and Black Onyx shotguns for the competitors to use.  

The first place team, with a score of 119, was Enterprise Electric: Mike Campbell, Wade Dawson, Michael Gray, George Anderson and Jeff McMahon. The second place team, with score of 116, was Nashville to You Team 2: Banjo Ben Clark, Jeff Hyde, Benom Plumb, Kyle Schoonover and Derek Sholl.

Organizations supporting the event and fielding teams were: Nashville To You; Big Machine Records; Valory Music Company; Lyric Street Records; Enterprise Electric; Griffin Technology; Starkey; Sony; Black River Music Group; ZIP Express Installation, Koss Corporation and 360 Artist Agency. Each shooter received a gift bag provided by Griffin Technology, ZIP Express Installation, and Koss Corporation who included their 25th Anniversary Limited Edition PortaPro headphones. Starkey provided the Magnum Ear hearing protection for all shooters as well as the prizes. The first place team members each received a set of custom In-Ear iPod Monitors and Magnum Ear shooting protection; members of the second place team each received a pair of custom Magnum Ear hearing protection.
