NRA’s Education & Training Division is pleased to introduce their newest addition: Steve Hoback, Program Assistant with the Training Department.

Steve Hoback Hoback joins the Training Department with a wealth of knowledge and experience, including 12 years in the Airborne Infantry with the United States Army. During his tenure in the Army, Hoback was a Drill Sergeant, as well as a competitive pistol shooter and instructor with the Marksmanship Training Unit #1. As a competitor, Hoback represented the Army in Spain at the Small Arms Championship.

After his career with the Army, Hoback went to work for FN Manufacturing in Columbia, South Carolina, where he served as a test gunner and range master. Hoback later took charge of the company’s packaging and shipping operations.

With a strong background in firearms and training, Hoback is an asset to the programs of the Training Department. “We’ve immersed him in everything we do, all of our programs,” said NRA National Instructor Trainer John Howard. Hoback will eventually be tasked with running a program for an enhanced level of NRA Certified Instructors due to his vast experience.

Originally from the Jersey Shore, Hoback currently resides in Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia. In addition to shooting, the father of four enjoys biking the C&O Canal.
