Ben Avery Shooting Facility

To some, the Ben Avery Shooting Range is nothing more than their hometown shooting range.

To others, it’s a pivotal experience. The shooters who participated in NRA’s first-ever Open Range Day were primarily new shooters. Saturday’s participants who are local to the northern Phoenix area may choose the range as a future classroom or workshop location.

The Ben Avery Shooting Facility is owned and operated by the Arizona Game and Fish Department, which makes it the largest public operated range in the nation.

From the official Ben Avery website:

Our world-class shooting range is a city of Phoenix Point of Pride. It has received a Five Star rating from the National Association of Shooting Ranges, meaning that it is the best of the best at providing a quality recreation experience; ours is the first government facility to receive this designation.

Men, women and children of all ages and experience levels are welcome. Trained safety officers are on the firing line at all times to oversee safety and to offer informal coaching when needed.
