The wind is picking up and the sun is behind the clouds, making for a much different atmosphere than the ACUI’s previous two days on the field.

Don Sipes, NRA's National Shotgun Coach Trainer, attended last year’s ACUI Clay Target Championships and assures NRAblog.com that today’s American Skeet competition is carrying on just fine despite the change in climate.

“It’s going very smoothly, considering there are more than 330 shooters here,” Sipes said. “It’s going splendidly.”

NRAblog found Sipes watching one of Lindenwood’s teams on the American Skeet field, but he assures us he pays equal attention to all competitors. “I have no favorites,” he said. “It’s just fun to watch so many.”

The Stat Office tells NRAblog that it’s too early to call the match. Just over half the competitors have finished firing, so today’s shoot off will more than likely be later than yesterday.
