NRA's Wayne LaPierre

St. Louis, Missouri - Last night's NRA's Celebration of American Values Freedom Experience saw thousands of people come together for a night extol the attitudes that make this country so great.

The crowd took their seats to patriotic music performed by the award-winning Randolph-Macon Academy Junior ROTC Band before Wayne LaPierre spoke about the night NRA had in store for the crowd. After bringing out the rest of NRA's executive officers and thanking Larry and Brenda Potterfield of MidwayUSA for being the Annual Meeting's official sponsors, it was time for the presentation of colors, Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem.

Inspecting the items on the Wall of Guns

St. Louis, Missouri – Ken Yahl of Pacific, Missouri bought a single ticket for today's twelfth round of the NRA Foundation's Wall of Guns. His son bought one too. With a drawing done for each 100 tickets sold, there was a 1 in 50 chance someone from their family would win.

They wished they had better odds, but it was good enough.

With the hundredth ticket sold and the barrel given a few good turns, a young boy from the crowd pulled out Ken's ticket to a round of applause. Ken's grandchildren were ecstatic, his son and daughter-in-law couldn't believe it, and Ken had a wry smile on his face befitting someone who had just won a great prize.
