Fairfax, Virginia - Last year's MidwayUSA & NRA Bianchi Cup winners are going to have a little more to brag about when the 2013 match starts next week.

Thanks to sponsor Action Target, the winner of each major category in 2012 now has a giant, 15-foot banner with their photo and winning score. These banners will be on display throughout Columbia, Missouri's Green Valley Rifle & Pistol Club to remind other shooters who they're going up against . . . and the returning champions of the expectations they're pressured to meet.

Fairfax, Virginia - The MidwayUSA & NRA Bianchi Cup has seen tremendous growth the past few years and is one of the most exciting competitions in the shooting sports today. A great part of the championship's ability to draw the world's best shooters and put on such a great competition is from its sponsors' support.

For this year's Bianchi Cup, MidwayUSA has given $115,000 to help the championship continue being the richest and most prestigious shooting tournament in the world. This is MidwayUSA's fifth year as the title sponsor, a role it sees as important for helping both the shooting sports and its hometown of Columbia, Missouri where the championship is held.

Columbia, Missouri - Just a few minutes ago, staff and competitors gathered for the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 MidwayUSA & NRA Bianchi Cup. As part of the festivities, MidwayUSA founder and CEO Larry Potterfield addressed the crowd.

Welcoming everyone back to Columbia, he thanked the crew from the Green Valley Rifle & Pistol Club for all of their hard work an preparation for the championship. Before the ceremony began, we stopped to talk with Larry and other executives from Midway about this year's Bianchi Cup.

"In 2012, Midway celebrates our 35th anniversary and the Bianchi Cup celebrates its 34th. So for 34 years, Midway and the Bianchi Cup have worked together to bring you the most prestigious pistol championship in the world," said Potterfield. 

Matt Fleming, President of MidwayUSA echoed those sentiments when adding: "This is our 4th year as the title sponsor of the world's greatest pistol championship. We're delighted it is in Columbia and we're proud to be part of such a great competition."
