Saying thanks for Harrisburg's support of the Great American Outdoor Show
Fairfax, Virginia – Last year's Great American Outdoor Show was a smash hit for sportsmen in the Mid-Atlantic. After a successful boycott of the 2013 show when its previous owners tried limiting attendees' Second Amendment rights, the new NRA-run Great American Outdoor Show restored outdoor enthusiasts' confidence in one of Harrisburg, PA's treasured annual events.
The city of Harrisburg was such a great host, and it's police department such a great help, that the National Rifle Association wanted to give something back to the community as a way of saying thanks. As a result, we're pleased to announce the donation of $50,000 (from the NRA Foundation) to the Harrisburg, PA Police Department for the purchase of a fully equipped Police Cruiser.
“The people of Central Pennsylvania were very supportive this February when the NRA launched the Great American Outdoor Show,” said NRA General Operations Executive Director Kyle Weaver. “This is our way of thanking the community for welcoming us to the neighborhood.”
